Pulling it all together Online-Style

Their Eyes Were Watching God

At the high school, I've just started Dan and MaryLou's classes off on a new project, actually a re-make of an old project in a new online finish. The class has just finished reading, Their Eyes Were Watching God, and now the students will choose a criticism style from a list of about six and apply this style "lens" on the novel. They will share their findings in an online tutorial they will craft using Voicethread. To complete the project they will also post their resource list and a sample Lesson Plan to a web page. Trying to keep all the information in one place, and linkable to all the teachers' web sites, I created the project information on a Google Doc. We printed this out and used it as a project description and help sheet for the kids, too. Nothing to loose, nothing to access on a school server..... it's all out there. I like it. Eventually Bedford will host Google Apps on our own server, but for this project we will probably use Weebly for the web page.
